Thought it would be worth it to post some info on the Venetian deepstack series of tournaments in this thread, as well. If anyone has the Wynn Classic info, please post it as well, as both the V and the Wynn have a great lineup for their deepstack series tournies.

Here is the info from another poster with regard to the Venetian deepstack series:

The $540 events start at noon, and the $330 start at 2PM. Levels are 40min and the structure is the same as the regular $540 (25/50 blinds to start).

Don't eat the 7pm sandwich at the Sahara.

Don't know if the 7PM is that much different from the 11AM, but I found the 11AM very edible (obviously, the only difference is the number of players, as the structure is identicle).

Though I rarely play tournies, I have been indulging lately, and played in the Sahara 11AM this past monday.

I must say that I was rather impressed with the very hands on approach of the management (especially Mike), as he kept a constant eye on the open seats, as they opened, and kept the tables very balanced. It was 4 tables plus about 7-8 alternates. Paid top 7.

Obviously, lots of regulars that play it daily (and many of them have specific seats they sit in). Though the table draw is "random" Mike allows for flexibility if you like a certain seat, which is kind of an old school way of doing it (though it does fall in an ethical gray area).

Overall, it was a fun tourney that I will definately play again, despite busting out 12th.

Mitake in the original posting:

The $175 Venetian tourney at noon runs Sun-Fri (not 7 days a week as posted above) due to the $540 that runs on Saturdays at noon.

Note that Caesars Palace requires a W2G form for all tournament wins over $599.

[/ QUOTE ]

What does this mean? How does this affect non US residents?

Cheers.

Hopefully someone else will come along that is more informed then I am, but basically, what it means is that, for US residents, a tax form, to report gambling winnings, is required at that property, and is automatically filed with the IRS (Internal Revenue Service). Other rooms assume you will do it on your own.

For foreign residents, some countries require a 30% withholding for tax purposes, and others don't (I know that Russia does not require any withholding, among others). It depends on your country. I do not know the specifics of this, so like I said, hopefully someone else will come along with more insight.

Yes, I do. Though I am not a fan of Caesars room in general, that is not a factor. The Sahara tourney is a good value with regard to the number of players/prize pool; value with regard to chip stack/levels; and hands on orginized management approach to running the tournament. Their tournaments are the backbone of their room, which is a rarity, so the management work pretty hard to take care of the tourney players.

Between Caesars and Sahara, I would choose Sahara, but that is just me.

It should be noted that the Venetian tournament schedule has changed from what I posted in the OP:

Sun. - Thurs. $300 buy in, $30 ent fee, $10 staff bonus buys 6000 chips (4500 + 1500 bonus) at noon

Fri and Sat. $500 buy-in, $40 ent fee, $10 sb buys 10000 chips at noon.

Sun. - Thurs at 8 pm is $110 + 15 + 5 and (1) $50 rb 1500 starting chips + 1000 for bonus + 2000 for the rb (used to be 1500).

The $200 bounty has moved to fri.

That's it for Venetian updates.

On a smaller buy in note, I just played in the Sahara 7PM tourney on Friday evening. They had a very large turnout: 174 total players. Despite being 11 handed all night (including the final table), it was a well run tourney. Top 11 places paid. First $3290, 11th $80 (It got third for $800). We opted not to chop.

It lasted from 7PM to 12:45AM with two breaks.
