By the way I don't care if Christians go on missions or whatever and help the needy. Just don't [censored] tell me about it all the time and act all high and mighty and act like you are better than everyone else.

"Without God I'm Useless"?!?!?

what self respecting poker player believes in god? i thought all poker players, especially pros. were logical and rational?

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe in God. I also play poker and feel that I'm both logical and rational. The idea that you can't be intelligent and also believe in God is absurd. Many of the smartest people in the world are believers. Oh, and also, many of the best poker players in the world too.

Have you heard of Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson, Chip Reese, Jennifer Harman, and countless others?

I don't want to get into a debate about the existence of God because it would be a waste of time since you could NEVER prove that God doesn't exist, and I wouldn't be able to prove to you that he does.

What I do find odd, though, is that many atheists I come across will often equate intelligence to where you stand on the issue and that boggles my mind.

So, if you found out that someone you respect actually has a faith in God, does that actually make you think less of their intellect? If so, do you not think that your thinking ia a little flawed?

I'm sorry that you feel that way about the group as a whole, thayer. While there are some Christians that forget most of Jesus' teachings and use Christianity as a pedestal to look down on others, that's really not the spirit of anything that he had to say. And I've been to Africa to help out, and no, we didn't withhold food and medical attention until they agreed to "be saved" as you suggested earlier in this thread.

Clearly.

"Christians GENERALLY seem more self righteous and full of themselves about their beliefs. "

It's crap like what you just said that pisses me off. You people take what I say and turn it into me saying I'm bashing christians for trying to do good, and that I think killing people is better than helping out poor places, and you think I hate all christians.
