From The Dugout

**Online Host**
Welcome to Suppan's Labyrinth!
Ofelia Ofelia: Mi nombre es Ofelia. ¿Quiénes son usted?

SuppanSandwich: Me? I've had so many names... Old names that only the wind and the trees can pronounce. I am the mountain, the forest and the earth.

SuppanSandwich: I am... I am a starting pitcher. Your most humble servant, Your Highness.

Ofelia: /sits quietly while we watch 45 minutes of Spanish Civil War drama (?)

SuppanSandwich: Before the full moon is above you, you must complete three tasks! /wiggles fingers

JoeyGladstonesBullwinkle: *bursting into room* RAAAAAH! /stumbles forward with open hands like gay zombie

SuppanSandwich: OH NO CRAZY MISTER EYEBALL HANDS, RUN OFELIA RUN

Ofelia: /emotes slightly

**Online Host**
Crazy Mister Eyeball Hands has left the chatroom after like, two minutes.

SuppanSandwich: whew, that was an exciting couple of minutes. Let me hurry up and tell you your tasks so we can watch 15 minutes of a midwife looking concerned.

SuppanSandwich: Task one: crawl into a hole and make a frog vomit. That will take several minutes.

SuppanSandwich: Task two: put the hispanic Pillsbury Doughboy into a tray of milk and bleed on him. This will make your pregnant mother feel better.

Ofelia: ¿que?

SuppanSandwich: Don't worry, it doesn't make sense to me either, but it loosely parallels what is happening in the real world.

SuppanSandwich: Task three: Let the fairies guide you. Obey them unwaiveringly. And when they tell you to unlock the middle keyhole, unlock the one to the left, for some reason.

SuppanSandwich: This is all pretty [censored] up and pretty, huh??

Ofelia: /sits quietly

SuppanSandwich: It's almost as exciting as that one episode of Destinos where Raquel Rodriguez makes vegetable faces.

SuppanSandwich: Soo.... okay, I'm going to slink back into the wall here and wait for the season to begin, or for the cool stuff to start happening. Whichever starts first.
Ofelia

Ofelia: /walks around

SuppanSandwich: Okay! Go right ahead.
Go on ahead with the cool stuff.

Ofelia: /walks around

SuppanSandwich: ...

Ofelia: /sits quietly
/emotes slightly

SuppanSandwich: ...

SuppanSandwich: auuuugh come oonnnnn

Just saw this.

Really good film. It made me uncomfortable, sad, happy, and intrigued.

Subtitles are a non issue.

Anyone think their are some Christian undertones in this film?

I saw it last night, and thought it was a very good movie. Visually impressive with some really good scenes. Like mentioned already, the subtitles are not a problem at all.

The only downside is that the plot isn't overly exciting, but it makes up for it in other ways. A very solid movie.

I saw this today also. Like others I thought the cinemetography and soundtrack was fantastic. I do think the storyline of the fantasy aspect was fairly weak, I wish someone with a little more experience worked on the plotlines there.

Spoiler alert

I was actually surprised at the end. I thought the Faun was up to no good and was using the little girl to do something for him. I was quite wrong, but it made me not like him during the movie. In retrospect, he was a pimp.

Also, what was with the evil monster that ate the children? Is there a backstory there? When I saw all the shoes, it made me think the Faun had sent kids there to be eaten for some evil reason, again another reason why I didn't trust him. But anyways, whats the deal with that monster? He just sits there and waits for kids to eat stuff?

what I don't understand is why she didn't just kill the mofo. She had that big ass knife and he was hella slow.

This is exactly what I was thinking while watching this movie. I dont know why this movie is getting such great reviews. Take out what little fantasy there is and you have a very generic facists vs rebels movie.

This movie needed more Labryinth and probably more David Bowie

Wtf, ianlippert, you have a baller ass last name. Probably the best last name EVER. Ehhhm.

My thoughts;
- I watched it on my computer, I can tell this was a bad decision
- Why the [censored] did she eat the grape? There was no reason for this. She did everything else without questioning it (until she *saved* her brother), what made this different?
- The reviews and such made this movie seem epic... aside from the cinematography, I don't think it is.
- It bothers me when characters act illogically which happened too often (Ofelia, the Doctor, Captain, Pedro, etc).
- A true sign of a good foreign flick; you don't realize it's a different language after about 5 minutes
- All in all, 3.25/4, probably a 3.5/4 if I saw it on the big screen.
