I'm 100% in, and I'm upping the ante to $100. I can see me talking my drunk self into justifying a fast food stop as a $50 donation to charity, but I'll think twice at $100. Subway/Quiznos visits will only count against me if there are fried items involved (including potato chips)...I'm debating whether to add cheese to this list.

Otherwise, no [censored] stipulations. It's not like you gotta chop off a finger if you break the pact...it's just a charitable donation. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Yes, no diet or regular. Only water/juice.

Water rules.

Water rules, but there are a ton of foods that suck with anything but soda or beer. I guess beer isn't excluded, though

I would like to give up fast food for the reasons that it is bad for you and expensive. My problem is I am young and dont have a ton of money. Do you guys have any suggestions of other food besides FF that is not to expensive and easy to make? What food is good to pack up and take to work?

Come up with a $ amount that is significant but not crippling. Apply it and leave yourself no way out. With the proliferation of Subways and the such, it's not that uncool to be "that guy" any more....alternatives are not that hard to find any more.

I personally don't need a pact. I've had fast food maybe 5 times in the last year. A couple of times I was pretty much forced into it. The other times, I just felt like having a little Taco Bell. Anyways, it's horrible for you. So, I say good luck to you all. Also, what a couple of people said: I'm surprised you didn't give this up long ago.

ok, i'm in on this. i'll go with gonores and do the $100.

i'm also considering extending this to things like chinese food, etc., but for now i'm in on the fast food. i very rarely eat it anyway though, i feel like i'm cheating. no chinese food for a year would be sick though.

This is true. When I visit friends out of town, usually we'd eat out just because it is easy. They all knew of the bet, and were very understanding of my situation, and more than happy to accommodate to a setting that wasn't fast food. Don't worry about being "that guy."
