Default Re: *** UFC 66 : Official prefight thread *** Randy Couture\'s Thoughts

On Sherdog's internet radio show Randy Couture was guess and he talked about UFC 66.

Here is a summary of a few of his points (since the show is about 1 1/2 hrs long)

No Real Breaking News, but some interesting things.

- Randy likes Chuck to beat Tito. He (like many) believe Tito fights the perfect style for Chuck to take advantage. Randy did say he thinks he knows "the holes" that Tito has found (and stated he found) in Chuck's game. It is when Chuck gets up from a take down, he turns his back to opponet exposing his back and neck for a RNC. Randy he and Karo both noticed it on video and Randy assumes Tito say it as well. Take it for what it's worth, but Randy has beat both guys.

- Randy firmly belives that MacDonald will beat Leban. I would trust Randy since he used to train with Leban. Randy said that Ed Herman actually has a better ground game and better skills then Leban and look how easy MacDonald went through Herman.

- But the big news from the interview is that if Tito beats Chuck, Randy Couture will come out of "retirement" and look to fight Tito for the UFC Light-heavy belt. He seemed VERY serious about wanting to fight Tito so he can shut him up again.

Enjoy the Fights.

Randy should know better than to use mma math, the "a beat b, b beat c, so a should beat c" idea doesnt work.

That is not what Randy said, He said Herman has a better ground game then Leban and MacDonald owned him once it hit that mat, so Randy thinks if MacDonald could sub Herman with no problem he should then Leban will be easier once MacDonald gets him on the ground.

I don't know where you got fighting equation out of that.

I didn't hear the interview, the way I read it, it sounds like he means something like "it will be an easier fight for macdonald because he subbed herman, who has a better ground game than leben"...thats not the way it works though. Maybe I'm interpreting it wrong.

Chucks gut was worse vs Sobral. I'm actually more concerned because chuck looks so skinny...looks like he's getting old/coked out.

At -200 though, I had to bet another .5u on liddell though. GL all.
