Default state of ennui...

...this is the perpetual state i live in. right now is especially bad because i have a pinched nerve and cant play golf. some suggestions:

as previously mentioned, take up golf. you can do it for a lifetime, you can exercise, you can get outside, you can never master it, and you can GAMBLE (big).

as previously mentioned, invest in stocks. but dont be a donk. read the intelligent investor, do your homework, set some goals, refresh your ameritrade page 13,000 times a day (like me).

poker related: find some homegames, or hi stakes casino mixed games. your poker fire will come back in a hurry.

buy some real estate, get renters. nothing feels better than collecting rent.

keep your ears open for business opportunities. dont be afraid to invest in yourself or a trusted friend in a whacked out business venture.

keep lots of plates spinning.

i wrote an essay about this a long time ago. it even happened to us old timers before the internet.

Find other hobbies. I am home 14 hours a day and only play poker like 2-3hours because I am either

A. Arguing about philsophy on various forums
B. Talking to girls
C. Thinking of poker concepts
D. Talking to myself

ahahahaa. ok that was funny but yeah you need other hobbies/friends? Do you have a legitimate best friend? That really helps.

I rarely play, and I do a lot of activities/travelling etc. Its good advice but it hasnt made poker any more fun for me. I like to play omaha tho, thats fun sometimes. Other than that I think we are doomed until we can retire from poker and/or the boom is over. Also side note since Im rambling: travelling for live tournies for awhile might be fun and is something ive been thinking about.

No.

OP just need to exercise to feel fresh again.

Or run really really hot.

And a girlfriend for some good night sleep.

like I said I do/have done all these things and still didnt enjoy poker that much. Running megahot at high stakes was the closest I got, but even that loses most of its excitement after awhile.
