I played with the Hudson Falcons for a couple of years - played bass on their last CD - did a 2 1/2 month U.S. tour & a 3 week tour of Germany:

I play guitar in Two Man Advantage - hockey/punk band - we've also toured across the country a couple of times - have put out a few CDs & have had songs played in NHL arenas:

I played on and off for about 10 years with Taylor Hicks. We opened for some very big acts, but also played a million fraternity parties.

My band toured a couple times released some 7"s and opened for the Donnas, New Bomb Turks, Good Riddance, Anti-Flag yaddayadda. We recorded an album but our record label folded. We figured garage rock with a chick drummer was never gonna make us any money or fame so we quit. Then the White Stripes appeared and WSSCKO.

So, yeah, not far at all.

If you so happen to still be looking at this thread - what band were you in??

I'm very familiar with all those bands....if you toured with those bands & released some 7"'s, I'd probably know who you are...maybe even seen you.

New Bomb Turks = one of the greatest garage rock 'n' roll bands of all time.

My brothers band started playing coffee shops last year and has graduated to local clubs in New Jersey (stone pony) and New York (cbgb's when it was open, pianos, knitting factory).

He is currently paying for studio time and putting together an album. He is super talented and has a nice cast.

Check him out on myspace.com/greenarrows.

just messing around in the garage?
play a couple gigs?
make a demo?
tour?

Im working on putting out a demo with my band now and curious what levels of success others have achieved

also, my drummer for religious reasons cant play on friday nights/saturdays, hes jewish, do people think this is a huge issue?

it depends how far you want to take it and what type music u play.
if its the standard pop rock you need a good drummer. Punk he can probably be a [censored] drummer. if you just wanna play thursday nigth and get free drinks go with him, but if you wanna make something out of it get a new one as soon as possible.

My freinds band (the one i travel with) 2 self produced albums, the have a semi big time agent (after there last album came out) toured all over texas, just got a booking agent for colleges, and the guy that produced the Frays album is producing his....so its kinda a big deal right now, they just recorded a demo with the producer to shop it to major lables and appearntly loat of people are intrested in him. They say he will be pretty famous, time will tell.
he was playing acoustic in coffee shops when i me him, 2years ago, hes my best friend now, so he tells me everything that goes on, i guess im like the tour manager when i go with them...
if you have more questions just ask. this is one thing i tend to know alot about, more so than poker

Wow, you guys rule!

Check out my band, Cry of Silence .

We've been together since March. We have had some good fun in the Vancouver local indie scene.
