Going back again in a few days after some quick house cleaning. Much better prepared personally, including one of those nice horseshoe shaped neck pillows.

Staying in the French area this time further from The Bund but much closer to her moms house.

Taking only carry-on luggage.

Hey suzzer,

I've been to Xian to see the terra cotta warriors but I'm not at all familiar with Huashan mountain, of which you have a pic posted.

What can you tell me about it? Is it worth the trip? Can I do the warriors and the mountain in 1 day? A lot of walking to get to the spot where this pic was taken?

I'm planning a family trip for this summer that will include three generations, so I have to take that into consideration.

I also highly recommend Drunk Shrimp.

So I am back from Shanghai again and had a chance to have some drunk shrimp.

two things...

first, they where nothing like the link They are actually live shrimp (the more kick to them the better) which are placed into an alcohol sauce and served as soon as they stop jumping around. when we got our plate, there we still a few barely moving around.

you basically bite the tail area and suck out the meat, then discard the rest.

second...they where freaking awesome! i could have eaten those things all day long.

great stuff

Don't fly anything less than business class if you hate to fly and are traveling that much further than you have before.

I think this is bad advice. While coach is not the most comfortable place in the world to be for 12+ hours, I think those 12 hours of a little discomfort beats the extra $1000s of dollars that you pay just to be a little better off for that duration.
