If you got rich playing (non-televised) poker, you would have to do something with that money and then you would not be a poker player so much anymore as you would say you are an investor or real estate owner or business owner or whatever.

The other concern she must have is that if poker stopped being a viable income source, would you be able to get and hold down a real job? It may sound silly to us but that's what she's thinking.

Most chicks think professional gamblers are degenerates, regardless of how much money they make. They are right more often than they are wrong and they usually cannot be convinced otherwise.

Professional gamblers have about as much status as porn stars. Women aspire to be with men of greater status than them, not lower. (Same with intelligence, same with education, same with wealth.)

If you want to be a professional gambler, part of the cost is cutting yourself off from a large portion of eligible women.

eh, eff her. Sad thing tho is that there are TONS of chicks like this out there. Its not anything negative with her I guess, its just a societal perception, and women are the ones most involved in that.

I just use it as a measuring stick, if she has this kind of attitude about what I do, then shes prolly different in other key aspects of her life that im not gunna be compatable with either. It sucks, but hey, thats life.

What I love tho, is the job securioty argument. Who realyl has job security anymore? Ive got friends with "real" jobs and they live paycheck to paycheck and live in fear of getting laid off. Yeah, thast waaay better than a poker player. Sure Im not guarunteed income, but my job is always gunna be there (govenment issues aside). And id be willing to bet, that most good poker players with responsible bankroll managment have way better finnancial security than 90% of the "real" working world. Simple because you have to plan for the unseen and because you know your income isnt guarunteed, where everyone else thinks that because they get a paycheck on friday, they are good to go. Then oops, their engine dies, or their dog needs surgery, or they get laid off, then its fux0red city cuz for them cuz they never planned ahead.

depends on the construction worker. The illegal immigrants doing all the hard work make less than 50K a year, the people who are telling them what to do make more than 50K a year.

A psychologist in the states usually charges about $150/hr
