Toys can be part of shared sex. They can be part of solo sex. It is a little bit concerning that your wife has a vibrator and that you didn't know anything about it. I'm not sure that you are ever going to get away with a discussion where you admit to finding the sex toy. You will always have problems with the privacy issue. You ought to be able to find out whether or not she has couple sexual desires that you might be able to help with. It might be that the vibrator has nothing to do with you and will never have anything to do with you.

How about the straightforwardly honest approach...
"Hey honey, I was going through your drawers because of [completely innocent reason] and I found your vibrator. It never occurred to me that you might have a vibrator, but I find it intriguing." Now you can let her guide the conversation. The honesty regarding the situation is probably going to work out in your favor (provided that you had a good reason for going through her drawers in the first place). If you didn't have a good reason for going through her drawers in the first place, then I suggest that you create one. Do the laundry (you lazy bastard).

Next time you're doing stuff bring up that you want to buy her one and use it with her, and then maybe she'll come out with it. If not, buy her a nicer one than she has, you know she's into it.

i think these "use it with her" suggestions are pretty lame. once the subject is in the open, she'd say something if she really wants to use it in a couples situation. you can ask at some later point about ideas for spicing things up or whatever if that's your honest intention. i guess the thing that bugs me about this specific subject is that it's obviously being employed as a me-time masturbation tool. how would you like it if your wife/gf wanted to start taking dumps together or talk to you about her work day while you were jerking it? it's not a crime to want a little time for yourself. i think it should be discussed because not being able to chat about it is ridiculous, but i'd try to end it on a "hey cool whatever makes you happy" note instead of a "hey cool how can this make me happy?" note. most people aren't going to go from hiding something to wanting to doing exhibitions without voluntarily hitting the stage where they want to talk about it.
