What is the big race to move up for again? What is wrong with sticking at a level you are comfortable with?

Cuz you can make more money and buy more toys to reward yourself for all the time and study it took to get there (as long as it doesn't impact your bankroll too much).

It's nice to know you're crushing the game you're at, but there is something to be said for feeling too comfortable. Maybe there isn't much left to learn where you're at so you're growth is a bit slowed.

I know when I moved over to Absolute, I stayed at 1/2, but added in some 2/4 at the same time. I took a beating, but I was determined to stick it out since my roll wasn't in jeopardy and I needed to figure it out.

My roll is $3000+ (actually made more, but I chose $2500 as my official roll when I decided to actually separate my finances) over the past 3 years, nothing substantial, but I'm way over rolled for 2/4, which I just made the jump too.

Not sure if it was too late or not, but I realized after my two month ass kicking at Absolute, I learned a ton playing against those tight asses. I had to make adjustments quickly against them, thus the learning curve came quick, really advanced my game to the point where I'm not comfortable at 2/4.

I'm well rolled for other levels now, but I'm going to get a good amount of 2/4 in to make sure I'm ready since I just moved there.

I wish I could play more live, but casinos are over an hour away here in Oregon.

So just move up...your education will thank you for it.

I used to choke on the double losses when I moved up to 2/4 for a shot, but now I've become numb to it like the other levels. That came by forcing myself to feel uncomfortable. I had a $170 (47BB) loss the other night and I didn't even feel it. I know I played pretty well during that session and had at least 4 bad beats when I had huge hands in huge pots and got run down by morons. If I feel compelled to say anything at all to them, it's usually, "I love you." I usually say nothing though.

I save "I love you" for the other TAG jerks who want to berate me for a play I made that they don't yet understand.

So move up. Make more money...faster.

On a (rambling)side note...

Getting my VPIP up near 20 is something I have been working on also. I started out as super tight, around 13. I have it up to 15-ish now. I am still trying to find this extra 5 percent. I am thinking it is situations that I am missing more than actual hands.

correct.

c'mon tilt, I'm dying to know if I should move up.

Actually, I guess I am working on moving up... just have had bankroll issues lately and a couple stabs at it didn't quite work (run bad, move up, run bad kinda thing).

My year...this actually doesn't include some Eurobet losses where I couldn't figure out how to get them into PokerTracker. It was about 50BB at 1/2.

Graph is only limit, not no-limit that I've been dabbling in lately.

Current bankroll: ~$380

i'll come back to this later today hopefully.

I jump around limits like a monkey.

I have lost $1500 at $5/$10 and $3/$6 over the last 48 hours which makes me feel like I have been stampeded by a pack of elephants.

I still have a ~$5000 bankroll but the downswing/tilt loss has turned me into a mouse and I am back at 2/4, where should I realistically play?

[/ QUOTE ]

it looks to me like you ran very well playing a laggy game more suited to shortnhanded games than full ring games. i think you should play 3/6 when you recover emotionally and tone down the laggishness.
