The live straddle on the button in NL or PLO is +EV. [/ QUOTE ] I've seen/heard many seemingly bright people say this (at least the part about being +EV in NLHE). I can't quite figure it. The negatives of putting in a forced double sized big blind on the button are made up by the fact that you can be the absolute last to act pre-flop? Given my style of play, this is not +EV. I can imagine scenarios and types of players where this could be +EV. Anybody care to defend/further explain the statement? |

I had a straddle in $8/$16 that turned into a $4500 bad beat jackpot, so straddles really really rock.
Dealt AA, flop AAT, turn T...quads vs quads...CHA-CHING! |

The only thing better than straddling is re-re-straddling. [/ QUOTE ] |

I'd never heard of a straddlerock before this. Sounds fun.

do most casinos allow multiple straddles (UTG, UTG+1, etc.). foxwoods allows only one straddle, UTG+1 can blind bet but will not get closing action (this is for the no limit tables, i'm not sure of the limit ones).
