well it is just a paging service and is supposed to be for legitimate purposes. anything that is abused or missused can be "illegal." i wouldn't use it on people you don't know and I wouldn't use it to try scamming people. but if you just use it to mess around with friends, I would hope they just get a laugh out of it - some innocent fun.

I've used it successfully on Canadian numbers. Try putting 1 in front of the number and area code.

I used it to call my boss and tell him to stop stealing money from the store. He thought it was awesome so we used it to call the other stores in the area. Hilarious untill one of them called the cops. We'll see what happens.

and people don't be idiots and use it to call people you don't know. it is one thing to use it as an innocent prank phone call to your friends, another to use on random people - don't abuse this.
