Re: ($225) AQ played passively vs JohnnyBax
I like the way this hand was played postflop. I would usually raise preflop though, but preflop is fine as well. Turn is close, but I like the call.

Re: ($225) AQ played passively vs JohnnyBax
Raise PF, but OK, you didn't.
The flop is interesting. When JB pots this, raising might not fold KQ/QJ, but it'll fold everything below it for sure so I do like a call. Raising...you could raise for info, but if he calls, you're going to have to call a river bet after you check behind on the turn (don't even think of betting the turn), and that can get expensive. Besides, raising for info is overrated. Now we get to the turn and he pots it again. Frankly, I think you're behind or tied, and with the stack that you have, I would let this go (Bax knows you have at least a decent queen with your call on a dry board, and while he can't put you on AQ, chances are he can beat it. 62 is actually really really likely here.) If you were deeper, you could try to rep a set and bluff raise, but with ~1200 behind it won't work. If you do call the turn, of course fold the river. |
