Re: How many of you are scared of rollercoasters?
im afraid of heights, but i still like rollercoasters for the most part. But, im completely terrified of the "tower of terror" types rides where the whole point is to bring you up as high as possible and leave you hanging there in anticipation for what seems like an eternity.

Re: How many of you are scared of rollercoasters?
The best part of the dragster was when it first came out and it didn't always make it over the hill. That made it much more exhilerating not knowing whether or not you would gonna come straight back down to the beginning.

I love roller coasters. I remember when I was a kid, I was so looking forward to riding the Loch Ness Monster, but I was too short. The next year, we went to Busch Gardens again. I was tall enough then, but I was afraid. But since then, I've grown to love them. My favorite roller coaster experience was when me and my buddies decided to take off of work in the middle of the week and go to King's Dominion. The park was practically empty. We went on rides and would immediately be back in the front of the line to ride it again. [/ QUOTE ] The best is when you close the park. At Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ, a friend and I rode the Great American Scream Machine 7 times in a row. They made us get off, run from the exit to the entrance and jump all the queue bars, just in time for the next run. It was awesome. |

Re: How many of you are scared of rollercoasters?
I'm not afraid of heights at all, but I'm very afraid of man-made things falling apart when I'm on top of them. For instance, I could stand on top of a mountain, or on the edge of the grand canyon, and be totally OK.
That said, I'm not too worried about rollercoasters. I figure I'm only up for a little while, and the thing's designed to get me back down anyhow. ~D |

Re: How many of you are scared of rollercoasters?
Was really afraid of riding them until I was about 16, then finally got dragged onto Batman at Great America and loooooooooved it. Although I wasn't so much afraid of heights or that it might drop me or something as I was afraid I'd get sick. And I hate throwing up SO much that I was afraid to go on a ride that might make me sick.
Been on coasters at a few different parks, loved them all. Need to go back to Great America this summer, haven't been there in a few years. |

Yeah yeah, laugh it up. Just curious who else in OOT has an amusement park aversion. [/ QUOTE ] I was scared to death of them till last year, then I got over my fear and went on every coaster in Six Flags Great Adventure and had a blast (I'm 25 btw). |
