Base it on the player's current skill level, and they have to have the ability to play the position.

Cabrera (3b)

if you've watched cabrera this year you should know he is disqualified on this basis.

say you could: can you name 9 closers better than Johan, even for 1 inning?

[/ QUOTE ]

you tell johan he can go all out for one inning, and he becomes the best reliever in the game. but i still might prefer rivera with a one run lead for his ability to stop the home run altogether.

I don't think the aliens play with DH's.

So cause he had 1 outstanding year with High VOPR now he's better than a list of Outfielders?

And as I stated earlier, he plays left field not center field. Last year he was 5th, he current is 65th in the VORP stat and was 78th the year before he first real year in the bigs while there have been a couple of more consistant players in the league.

Namely, I'd rather have (overall OFers who can play O and D), Ichiro, Vlade, Andruw and maybe Mags who have easily been more consistant than Bay who had 1 great year last year.

Is Rodriguez + Tejada better than Rodriguez + Cabrera?

Is roughly 100 points of OPS worth two gold glvoers on the right side of the infield? Yes.

I'm surpised that so many of these don't include D. Lee. He is great defensively, and Pujols has played OF and 3B so he can be moved.

I really doubt Pujols can be an acceptable 3B at this point in his career.

Conservative position usage:

C: Vmart
1B: Pujols
2B: Utley
SS: Tejada(Rodriguez has gained like 15-20 pounds since moving to third, I don't think he could hack it at short)
3B: Rodriguez
RF: Guerrero
CF: Jones
LF: Bay
DH: Hafner

Aggressive position switching:

Infield and catcher the same
1B: Hafner
LF: Pujols
CF: Bay
RF: Guerrero
DH: Ortiz
