Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist

I love everyone in this thread saying, "Yeah right, XX Beer is like the Budweiser of (insert native country)." You can say say that about pretty much ANY imported beer sold in six-packs in your average (note: average) liquor or beer store in the U.S. If I go to a bar and I have the selection of Bud, Bud Light, Miller or Stella on tap, I'm ordering Stella every time. If I'm at a beer bar with Staropramen, Budvar (Chezchvar), etc on tap, I'm obvisously not ordering the Stella. The question was "Are there any good beers in green bottles." I think Stella is a pretty valid answer here. [/ QUOTE ] Stella is basically PBR. That doesn't make it bad - I drink plenty of PBR. But that also doesn't make it "good". |

[/ QUOTE ] Stella is a pale lager, PBR a mass produced American lager. if they're not 100% the same style, they're very close cousins, especially considering PBR is basically as "full" as American lagers get. anyways, the point is that they're pretty close in relative quality. |

Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
I was really hoping this thread was going to be a discussion about how much damage green and clear bottles do to your beer by letting light inside.
edit: hobbs got there first. |

Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
Hooray, I beer snob thread.
Besides Yuengling, I really like this beer: Also, FWIW, brown bottles are apparently the best bottles to store beer. They are the best at keeping out light, which damages the beer over time. I learned this from a Sam Adams commercial. |

Re: Good beer in GREEN bottles does not exist
Could the OP please clear up what this thread is about considering his only example of a good beer comes in a green bottle?
