[ QUOTE ]
What if you're asking with an impure motive? Will God answer you then? Try taking a shortcut. Ask as many people as you can if they ever received a spectacular blessing or a blessing that bordered on the miraculous. We have Brunson in SuperSystem telling us he got 3 of them in his own family. I know of several people that have received stupendous blessings. Maybe we're blessed but we're not recoginizing the blessings. Sort of what Harrington says about luck. We're lucky, but we only note the bad beats. [/ QUOTE ] He's not. |

[ QUOTE ]
I don't claim to know God's motivations for doing things the way he does, but figuring out reasonable explanations for why he doesn't communicate directly isn't hard at all even for a non-believer. [/ QUOTE ] Correct, it's not difficult at all, and the simplest, most likely (by far) explanation is that no such personal god exists. |

[ QUOTE ] You've already been told. Its called the The Poetic Edda, The Kitab-i-Iqan, The Five Classics, Sruti, Brahma Sutras of Bādarāyaņa , Quran, Hadith, Torah, Talmud, The Ginza Rba, Bood of Zodiac, the Holy Piby, The Kebra Negast, The Samartian Pentateuch, The Satanic Bible, Dianetics, The Guru Granth Sahib, The Kojiki, The Spirits Book... . [/ QUOTE ] fixed it [/ QUOTE ] I could go on. I'm sure all of these sacred texts all claim to tell the truth.... perhaps one of them is right. |

We're lucky, but we only note the bad beats. [/ QUOTE ] Someone tell those tens of thousands of people who drowned in the tsunami, to stop noticing only the bad beats. |

Sorry but this is the same old tired argument everyone keeps using. When its your time its your time. God is promising a new life with him. I don't want to stay in this life forever. I'm biomechanical and my body parts will wear out, besides its not as peaceful down here.

Still nothing back by the way. It seems odd that all those gods are too busy to get in touch when they've got the chance of a 100% devoted believer for just 5 minutes of effort.

Sorry but this is the same old tired argument everyone keeps using. When its your time its your time. [/ QUOTE ] Innocent infants being drowned to death is a "tired argument"? You should tell that to the parents of some of the victims. Well I've read the whole thread and I think I've sorted it out now: Tsunami/Starvation/other horrific ways to die/etc.: God's plan Cancer patients who die: God's plan Cancer patients who live: God's miracle California wildfires: Satan? |

Are you sure it's God? Why not the devil? Why isn't it a manmade disaster? Who decides to build in an area where there's an insignificant water supply?
