Re: What if players names were Player1, Player2, etc?
OK why don't they just do like WPEX. You can have your screen name at the table, but the hand histories will say Player 1, Player 2, ect...

Re: What if players names were Player1, Player2, etc?
**NEWS FLASH**
If you can't win money with these tools, you can't win money without them either. Don't blame them for your poor play. Man up and get better. OPs idea is just awful and the notion that it will sweep the online poker industry is just silly. These tools are the only way to incorporate certain elements of poker into the online game. Seriously, take responsibility for being a losing player. Don't blame these tools, or bad luck, or stupid players, or anything else besides yourself. |

If every time you sat down you would be assigned a name based on your seat, so player1, player2, players3, etc.. This would make people pay attention [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I would pay a lot more attention to how my opponents play and my history with them if I knew I would never be able to recognize them again and use that information. |

It is NOT allowed, it's pretty [censored] obvious. [/ QUOTE ] Not sure what's so obvious about this. You're telling us that a site that absolutely does NOT allow PokerTracker dedicates an entire section of their website to "Tracking Prevention", which says: [ QUOTE ] CakePoker does not support the use of tracking software (software used by players to track the play of others) [/ QUOTE ] Followed by: [ QUOTE ] CakePoker welcomes players to study their own hand histories to better their own play, so long as they do not use tools during game play. [/ QUOTE ] Why exactly would a site that does not allow PT use such ambiguous language in a section dedicated to the topic of tracking? "Does not support" <> "Does not allow". In their T&C's there is a section about bots and automated software, yet NOT A WORD about tracking software. Still seem obvious? |

Datamining and having stats handy for hunders of thousands of hands make it more like a live game? [/ QUOTE ] Good one buddy. Can't argue with that. Mostly because it's an insult and a question, not much substance. To answer your question. No, I don't think it makes it more like online poker, unless there is some webcam utility I don't know about. But I do think it compensates for some of the poker elements missing in online play. I'm thinking mainly of how these "tools" assist in reading hands in the absence of most types of tells. Do they over compensate, yeah, probably. The bottom line is I like them because they make me more money. The only reason I can think for people not liking them is that they feel it looses them money. My opinion is that if people are loosing money, it has more to do with their play then with these tools. These players would be better served posting hands in the strategy forum than complaining in this one. |

Why, I thought you'd never ask. Here's my two cents on the subject. Regards, Lee [/ QUOTE ] Great article Lee. I couldn't agree more. |
