When is a Mexican going to get a head coaching job or an Asian like Norm Chow who is very qualified.

I dont really think its much of a story if it was not brought to everyone's attention constantly i dont think anyone would have saw it as a big deal

That would be a good thread, name the top media-contrived/fueled stories of the last few years

[/ QUOTE ]

it would be worth a shot.

i vote for TO's "suicide attempt". at least steroids represent a significant social problem for america's youth.

The hits just keep on keepin' on.

ESPN.com has a headline, "Tomlin becomes Steelers' first black head coach".

Did I miss the one that said "Shell latest black head coach fired by Raiders"?

Parody of those Geico commercials. Something like coaching in the NFL: so easy a black man can do it. with a picture of the caveman guy.

if it was deleted someone needs to explain their retardation and lack of a sense of humor.

Yeah, it was an obvious jest post, however when it comes to racial issues some people think you should be nothing but completely serious and 100% PC at all times. But it also had a deeper meaning, kind of what a few people have stated in this thread, basically the bigger, huger deal you make of this the more insulting it is to African Americans.

Think about it, let's say you did some great accomplishment and someone said (not in these exact words mind you)

"Wow, that's really great, especially for someone like you!"

You'd be all "WTF does that mean?" aka they have a low opinion of you for some reason so they are all extra impressed by your achievment.

Although I doubt anyone in the media is meaning that, it can come across as that if overdone (which they will of course over do it)

So sad that this is the biggest story of the Super Bowl. When am I going to get to the point in my life where it is not a great victory for coloreds to do anything of any value that a white person has done before?

Please PM me when a black person swims a 100m in <1 min. Until that point I will not acknowledge any more black "achievements".

UAT, you're joke was not out of line. It was humerous, yet poigiant. I didn't actually LOL, but I smiled and may have giggled like a schoolgirl.
