[ QUOTE ]
I truely feel sorry for Ed.... his wife is apparently insane but I get the feeling that while she obviously goes overboard that a lot of what she says is based on truth.

[/ QUOTE ]

No on the truth part. Let me give one example. The author team on Professional No-Limit Hold 'em makes approximately 50 percent more than I do. If instead of an author team, there would have been only one author, he would have made 50 percent more than I do.

We pay very high royalties for a book publishing company. In fact, some of the rates we pay are virtually unheard of in the book business, and in general, our authors make approximately five times as much by doing the book for us than they would from most other publishers, and this includes our major competition. When you read the link, you get a much different impression.

And finally, because the review in question is causing so much controversy, I have sent a note to Amazon.com on behalf of Two Plus Two Publishing LLC explaining that the review is written by one of the author's wives, and requesting that it be removed.

Best wishes,
Mason

Didn't Elaine and Ed meet in a strip club?

[/ QUOTE ]

Elaine has responded to my comment (in the comments section of the blog post linked above) to say that they did not meet in a strip club.

I swear I can remember that story from around the time of the wedding (And I think Ed was the source). Can someone in the know tell me how that story started or how I could have gotten it wrong?

Wow.

[/ QUOTE ]

Could someone repost the link of "a man being [censored] to death by a horse". I missed that one.

[/ QUOTE ]

I am sure that someday Ed will regret he left the forums, because of the tantrum that Elain has created over a porn video. Some women become emotional over silly things all the time. It's too sad that Ed let Elaine decide for him not to come back to this forum and to ruin his 2+2 career. Don't mix business with pleasure.

Now that I've read Elaine's blog I'm very sorry that I made an effort towards being conciliatory on this issue. It is now clear that she is unwilling to acknowledge ANY impropriety in her action, notwithstanding that it is as plain as day that her "review" is unethical and totally out of keeping with even minnimal journalistic standards.

I hope that she has said her peace and will not further mar the debut of a much awaited book.

Although this is off topic, I consider NLHTAP to be a really poor book, with immense amounts of filler and pseudo academic gobbledy gook interspersed with simplistic and not terrible helpful "theory." And I would be surprised if most good no limit poker players don't agree. I mention this now mainly because I am noticing that NHLTAP gets defended in many posts in much the same way that Elaine's "review" does.

As deacsoft clearly pointed out, this is not against amazon's rules so I'm not sure what the big deal is....DUH, amazon does not explicitly prohibit such reviews and therefore it's No. BIG. DEAL. Right deacsoft?

One of the guys actually made the claim that the book turned him into a winner overnight, and that after being "impotent" for 7 years he is now measuring his winnings in stacks. L O L, wow this must be some amazing book, that it's able to turn a 7-year losser into a winner overnight. Makes me wonder what the hell this guy been doing for the past 7 years.

[/ QUOTE ]

this review was written by 2p2er Joe Tall. he was joking. that's why he has a second paragraph that begins, "seriously."
