Re: Issues with Parents
[ QUOTE ]
Big Bend, I think you're taking things a bit too far. I don't need mommy and daddy to drive me around, I'm glad you can take care of yourself though! You sound almost like my dad, maybe you have good intentions but you are a giant douche. "My way or get out" is your message, so I guess you are perfect and never make mistakes or bad choices. You're selfish and arrogant. Who tells their kids they were born naked and boy they are lucky to have parents who provide them with everything? Seems like you're doing this just to stroke your own ego. Good luck raising a family. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks, like I said, my wife and I are doing a great job raising our kids. Should one of them someday drop out of school and squander all the opportunities we've worked hard to give them, while being a resentful prick like you are... well I'll show them the door and wish em luck on their own. Good luck OP, you have a lot of growing up to do still.. that'll best be accomplished when you're forced to feed and shelter yourself. We only ask our kids to get good grades in school, be nice people, and work hard someday to support themselves. Its not much really. Sounds like you suck at all 3. I'd certainly be ashamed of you if you were my kid. |

Re: Issues with Parents
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Amazing how many people are complete [censored], unless this is some sort of level. Aren't you the guy who weighed over 460 pounds despite his massive willpower? [/ QUOTE ] Uh, no. I had a very hard time with my dad growing up. So at the age of 19 I moved out of the house and supported myself 100%, paid my own way thru college by working full time and going to night school, got my own jobs (I never needed daddy to drive me around), and never looked back. I'm very proud of what I've accomplished on my own. Any adult that needs mommy & daddy to pay their bills had better do what mommy & daddy want without complaining. OP is a pathetic loser who has blown tremendous opportunities and tries to blame his parents. He needs to grow up and move out NOW, learn to feed himself instead of sucking on the parent's milk. I have no sympathy for whining losers who can't support themselves. My kids know that they were born naked, and everything they've gotten since then is mine, and if they don't want to do it my way then they can sure as hell leave and support themselves. Builds character. So far the kids are doing great and are quite successful in life and everybody who knows us says my wife and I are great parents. OP's parents shouldn't nag anymore, they should just kick him out and cut him off completely.. once OP quit college, they should have never let him move back home. After OP learns how to walk on his own then he'll appreciate what he had and maybe learn that his parents were right. BB [/ QUOTE ] this post makes way too much sense for OOT. ban. |

Re: Issues with Parents
The more I read 2p2, the more I realize that my theories about why this country has gone to the [censored] are true. So many selfish people.
Now Mike, I don't consider you overly selfish, definitely not anymore than I was at your age. I get it, I really do. However, there are people in this thread, the drunk driving thread, and many other threads, that epitomize the problems of our society. Nobody is owed anything. Go earn it. I had my first job at 14 (which, now in 2007, would be considered early) and had a deal set up with my parents that whatever I saved for my 1st car, they would match. I bought a 1982 Mercury Cougar in 1998. I loved that damn thing. Anway, I'm freshly 25, and I feel a total disconnect with the current 18-21 crowd. Anyway, Mike, like I said, you will really see your parents in a different light when you NEVER hear them bitch about cleaning, curfew, or work. |

all she does is nag everyone in the house about things ranging from making my bed to cleaning my room to watching too much TV [/ QUOTE ] There's a simple solution to the clean your room thing...do you see it. Simple question: Should your parents get to decide how clean their home is? [ QUOTE ] Also my parents didn't give me money for anything [/ QUOTE ] Maybe they are trying to encourage you to work. Why should your parents give you money? [ QUOTE ] I'm an adult now, 21 years old [/ QUOTE ] You are the age of an adult. You are not an adult. [ QUOTE ] But he's just so eager to kick me out, over stupid stuff like putting an empty pizza box out on the porch [/ QUOTE ] Are you suggesting that your parents shouldn't be upset when you leave garbage sitting around their house? |

How can you not know what your dad does for a living?
Think about it, maybe it has something to do with your problems. |

Re: Issues with Parents
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I don't see why you would want to purposely make it harder on your kids. I'll be happy to support my kids through college. You choose to have kids, you shouldn't make them feel bad because you give them things (I'm talking before 18). It builds resentment both ways. Either give it to them, or don't. Simple as that. [/ QUOTE ] I never said parents should purposely make things hard. I'll certainly support my kids thru college. But if they drop out and become hopeless whining losers like the OP, they're on their own. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is a reasonable post, and I'd tend to agree. IMO, op definitely screwed himself by dropping out of college then going busto. At that point his parents must have started thinking "ok, you want to drop out and be a man? The gravy train is over, now get a job you crumb bum." His parents were supporting him, he said he didn't want their help anymore, then came crawling back. I can see why they're acting the way they are |
