Re: inexplicable leading ladies
[ QUOTE ]
Cate Blanchet Jodie Foster Julianne Moore Any of these three can make me dislike a movie with an intensity of epic proportions... [/ QUOTE ] I know I'll pick up hate for this, but I find all of these ladies very washed out and dull. Their name is more likely to make me want to skip a movie than see it. |

For me, it's Sandra Bullock. Most of her movies are dreck. A few are OK, but not because of her. But she keeps getting work, so I must be wrong. [/ QUOTE ] She was the next generation's Meg Ryan. Extremely likable, extremely explicable that she became a star. |

Re: inexplicable leading ladies
Sally Field-
She's really really good in the television series Brothers & Sisters. A strong character with great reactions and powerful delivery. I was completely taken by surprise. I tell everyone to watch this show. |

She has a certain classiness. But Meg Ryan is one I never could get. I'm the only person I know of who doesn't like her. Guys are just crazy about that girl. |

[/ QUOTE ] When you say "washed out and dull" do you mean their personalities or their looks? All 3 of those actresses are very pale. JF sort of gets on my nerves, but I never got around to seeing her in the airplane movie so maybe she was good in that one. Have there been any JF films you liked? |

Re: inexplicable leading ladies
Both.
I liked her in Taxi Driver, and that's about it. Haven't seen her in much else, but her wan laziness and talking like she has marbles under her tongue put me off her. I don't even know which airplane movie you mean. |

Re: inexplicable leading ladies
Every time I see a pic of Drew and remember her being chosen as the most beautiful of the beautiful, it's a WTF moment.

Re: inexplicable leading ladies
AM I the only one who can't STAND Julia Roberts? I think she is a crappy actress and not even close to as beautiful as everyone seems to think she is. I also get a distinct "mega-bitch in real life" vibe from her, although I have nothing but gut instinct to back this up.

Re: inexplicable leading ladies
I think she's vastly over-rated too, but I can see her charm.
