Re: Why does this guy even play poker?
I feel like a lot of the people shocked by this have never played a 4/8 game in Vegas ever.
I have a feeling that a good 60% of locals would approve of this dude's play. There's a whole generation of poker players that are weird, fatalistic nits. |

Re: Why does this guy even play poker?
Why is he even sitting at the table if he has no intention of playing any hand until the bubble is broken?

Why is he even sitting at the table if he has no intention of playing any hand until the bubble is broken? [/ QUOTE ] so he can intentionally grind the play at his table to hault and get blinded less quickly while the bubble bursts. |

Say I won a sattelite in the $50K horse tourney and was near the bubble w/ a stack that would get called in at least one spot, but enough to last a few more rounds. I'd rather avoid the high $ variance spot, b/c a payout of likely > $75,000 would be huge to my bankroll. And to elaborate on what Dids said, there's a ton of poker players, especially low limit LV nit/grinders who would probably fold AA if they knew the BB would only call w/ A2o. |

Re: Why does this guy even play poker?
You absolutely cannot say that there is no situation in which it is not only ok, but required, to fold pocket aces preflop. Sklansky himself has shown that, at times, it is the only intelligent course.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Kmon, You are wrong there are definetely spots with bubble implications where you can fold AA pf. This guy is an idiot I don't the live tournament rules but could he like shove and flip his cards face up or something like that. Or tell people I'm not going all in unless i get AA and than open shove when he gets it and show it after the hand or something. [/ QUOTE ]you cant expose ur cards in a tournament [/ QUOTE ] That doesnt matter, flip them anyways, pretend it was by mistake to save face and get your penalty. He wasnt thinking about playing a hand anyways, so why not make the smart move, take that pot and sit out for a bit...? [/ QUOTE ] the hand would be considered dead and he'd lose whatever money he put in the pot to raise |

Re: Why does this guy even play poker?
Because the stats show that pocket aces win 100% of the time?
