[ QUOTE ]
This may not be my favorite sound in sports, but it's my favorite DESCRIPTION of a sound in sports: Bill Simmons describes audience reaction to boxing KO [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Here was the sound we made when Lennox Lewis exorcised his demons, regained his heavyweight title and ushered Hasim Rahman into his fifteenth minute of fame: [/ QUOTE ] Simmons was wrong about Rahman's 15 minutes being up though. |

[ QUOTE ] The sound of a packed pub during an England World Cup or European Championship game. [/ QUOTE ] As much as I hate England, all those drunk fans singing God Save the Queen is pretty sick. Sung at World Cup [/ QUOTE ] I came. |

Re: Favorite sounds in sports
[ QUOTE ]
I really like the sound of a "swish" in basketball. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know if any of you ever played on a court like this, but at our gym in high school, if you hit a shot so dead-center that it gave the ideal swish, the bucket would make this loud, very deep, clicking sound. I always liked that sound more than the "swish." -McGee |

Re: Favorite sounds in sports
As a tennis player, my least favorite sound was the ball hitting the tape on the top of the net.
Favorite sounds are the Michigan fight song (obv.) and the sound of a puck clanging off the post. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] sheldon brown hitting reggie bush in last years playoffs [/ QUOTE ] I was at the card room in French Lick while this was on. No one else was paying attention to the game, and I remember letting out an "OHHHH" when that hit happened live. [/ QUOTE ] i was drunk with 5 of my buddies in my [censored] west philly apartment. we all watched it happen and we went nuts. I saw the whole thing unfold, it was like slow motion, i'll never forget it. |
