If OPs belief that villain has a wide opening range but a tight 3-bet calling range is correct, then this has to be the easiest river call in the world, because it is (1) so very unlikely OP has a K, and (2) such a hard river call with just a bare 8. Villain would need to be worried that hero has exactly the kind of hand he has; i.e., a strong hand for the board that is ahead of villains bluffs and also some of his VBs. OPs hand could very easily be a draw and I think a river bluff from villain with nut low is +EV for him.
I still think repopping JJ PF is best. Overcards will fall on more than 50% of flops, and you'll often have a multiway pot. The more hands you reraise with the wider his 3-bet calling range and 4-bet PF range will become. Maybe I just have this tendency because I play a lot of tables and find that I make few mistakes in 3-bet pots with position, so I try to create them with a good frequency. |

he will very rarely have 99, TT, JJ, QQ or AA here. he has quads or he is bluffing. i hate preflop. [/ QUOTE ] mm, i think 2/4 plays pretty passive to the point where calling should be ok and possibly higher +ev since i get more fish coming along when i just call. but i think your postflop analysis is spot on. |

shouldn't he be more inclined to check the turn if he has air?

If you're colby why wouldn't you fire turn w/ most of your holdings? If hero has aggro image and doesnt repop me pf I expect him to be floating me here a ton and I'll second barrel this turn a good amount.
