1/2NL game at my B&M beatable? (Crown Casino, Melbourne, Australia)

During peak times there are around 15 of these tables open with a waiting list as long as your arm. It is truly a sad sight to behold. Of course the game can't be beaten long term, but do Crown care? At the moment there are more than enough players to come donate to their rake box. So no changes in sight for a long time me thinks. Stick to 10-20 & 20-40 limit if your gonna play at crown but I don't know much about the 5-10 N/L charges. May be some value there...?

FWIW the best game at crown is actually 20/40 LHE. it has a red chip rake up to $10. so if the game is short, and it doesn't get past the flop HU, no rake is dropped.
5/10 LHE is beatable for $15/hour if your good enough. it has a %10 rake, no time, $10 cap.
10/20 is just as soft. %5 rake, $10 cap, no time. $30/hour should be expected.
if you want to play, start at 5/10 and work up. its easy. if your bored you can read a book and play.

His name is Daniel A. He has played 1/2NLHE, 2/3NLHE, 5/10LHE, 10/20LHE, 20/40LHE and possibly 2/5NLHE. I may look into playing some limit.

By the way, I did notice that the 1/2 tables have become 9 handed. I played on one the other night and won ~$210 in an hour before I decided to sit out and get some drinks. In retrospect, should have probably stayed and tried to crush. It isn't every session on that horrible 1/2 game that you're able to chip up over 3 buy-ins very quickly.

Haha, I was at Crown on Sunday. Just eating lunch though, I don't think the big tough security guards would agree with my ID if I tried to gamble.

I don't know how people even pay a rake like OP is talking about. You could hire a dealer for your own home games and it would cost you less. Play online, something, anything... just stop giving those folks that kind of money, it's hideous.
