This is the best. Ever. [/thread]

Sorry, the sound quality is horrible -- just turn it up.

(RIP Iron Head)

[/ QUOTE ]

Heh, I remember this from my childhood. I always thought this was funny. I am a sucker for any black man who says "listen chump" though. Did he die some tragic death or something?

[/ QUOTE ]

His career was cut short by a brain tumor in 1998 and he died in 2006 at age 39.

Imagine the backfield that could have been had he stayed healthy... Peyton Manning at QB, Marshall Faulk at RB and Ironhead at FB. Sadly the gods decided that just wouldn't be fair. RIP Ironhead.

[/ QUOTE ]

but wait Indy decided the best RB in football was worth a 2nd and 5th and got rid of him

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you trying to imply that Indy made some kind of mistake by shipping Marshall Faulk?

Faulk was nearing the end of his contract and wanted a big payday that St. Louis gave him (7 years $45 million).

Instead of paying him a premium the Colts got Edge and used him for the next 7 years. During that time span Edge had 1000 more yards from scrimmage than Faulk (though Faulk did score 10 more TDs) while consuming a significantly smaller chunk of the salary cap.

Indy used the 2nd round pick to get Mike Peterson, who was their starting MLB for 4 years. They got Brad Scioli with the 5th rounder and he developed into a starting DE after a couple years.

Obviously things worked out well for St. Louis but Indy did very well in this deal. Only one RB trade since (Portis to the Skins) has netted this much or more in return.

Jordan has a few good ones, but I really liked this one. Let Your Game Speak

That and this one are probably the best sports-themed commercials I've ever seen (with apologies to Lil' Penny). By the time the one I linked finishes I'm ready to run through walls, kill things, and, uh, buy Nike products I guess. Something about it just works for me.

Loved this one back in the day.

-Stu Scott: So Charlie says you're maybe the 50th best heavyweight.

-Evander Holyfield: In the world?

-Stu Scott: In Georgia.

I love this Kobe commercial. Me and my friends, who are also Kobe fans, went berserk the first time we saw it. (I think it was on TNT during the playoff or towards the end of the season of last year?)

The part of this commercial that I think is so awesome is the kid chewing gum like Mike. I had never noticed that before, but I would have instantly recognized that was the way Jordan chewed his gum. So many great little touches in this commercial.

Strangely hypnotic car commercial for black people.

Eastern moters have the best marketing department ever.

I'm really happy somebody posted this in this thread before I got to it, because these guys deserve this kinda market penetration.

Considering driving across the country to buy my next car.

The baseball instructional video commercial that featured Fred McGriff is one of my favorites.

... Tom Emanski's back to back to back AAU championships!

I love this commercial because it's like stepping into a time warp. They still play it today, and "superstar Fred McGriff" is what, like 24 in the commercial?

The kids in that commercial can freaking mash the ball, though. Emanski's doing something right.
