I strongly disagree with that. David Wright is getting no talk despite being just as worthy, and Derek Jeter lost out to Morneau last year.

You can't claim NY bias in MVP voting.

I exaggerate to make a point -- that is, the national media has been pretty [censored] ignorant of anything the Rockies did all year until they woke up and learned the Rox were in a one game playoff for the Wild Card.

The Rox weren't on national TV (ESPN, Fox, or otherwise) not even a single time this season. All time single season team defense (by at least some measures...), and not a single Gold Glove. The only stories about the Rox all season were by local beat writers, etc., etc. Meanwhile, Rollins' 20/20/20/20/20/20/20/20 chase was pretty much well documented on Baseball Tonight at least 2x a week (along with Granderson's).

And now that we know 20 triples and 20 steals can win you a Gold Glove, obv, it's worth an MVP.

My point was that there's no way a Rockie has any reasonable shot at a league-wide individual award in a year when there is a viable east coast candidate. D Wright is out of the discussion because the media doesn't even consider him MVP of the NL East, given all the Rollins chatter. (I don't suggest Wright is not a deserving candidate, but he's not a viable candidate.)

If Tulo couldn't beat Rollins for a Gold Glove, there's no way Holliday beats Rollins for MVP. Tulo's superiority over Rollins in the defensive department was a more clear cut argument than what you can make re the MVP.

Typical east coast voter bias.
