If anything, it's ownership's fault and Cashman's fault that Torre got stuck with donkeys for a starting rotation, past Pettitte.

Yankees offered Torre a very good deal for one year. He would still be highest paid manager in baseball without incentives kicking in.
He probably wanted two guaranteed. He said no. I am fine with moving on -- not sure Mattingly is the right guy though... he has done some things that already trouble me.
