Re: Good (expensive) drinks to order in a casino
[ QUOTE ]
Indeed they do but I've never tried it. I've never had gin better than Bombay Saph. or Tanq. Is it really worth the $30 a bottle for Van Gogh? BTW Tanq makes a vodka called Tanq Sterling that is great value. [/ QUOTE ] I think it's worth the $30 when I'm up a few hundred like last week. This week, down $1,600 by Monday, I did not buy it FWIW it's really smooth. I've never tried "Sterling." I'll see if I can hunt up a bottle. Sapphire of course is always a good choice too. |

Re: Good (expensive) drinks to order in a casino
Drinking while playing is -EV?!? Damn! Next you'll be telling me I should not be playing 36 hours without a break. Or that I need to eat now and then.
Order a really nice shot of bourbon with a beer and a glass. Drop the shot into the beer, down the depth charge then loudly complain "why do we only get two cards?" Do it in the locals-only 15-30 at the Wynn and send us a trip report. |

Re: Good (expensive) drinks to order in a casino
I feel like something is very unclear about this whole thread, and I'm writing this because I saw a new post about the best free drinks in vegas, so I'll pose the question here. Which of these drinks can you get free while playing poker, slots, table games, etc?
I'm going to vegas in mid may with a bunch of my buddies from college. I'm not a big drinker and I don't drink and gamble at the same time, but my friends aren't big gamblers and are big drinkers. Say I'm playing at bellagio, $25 a hand blackjack, would I be able to get some high end scotch, good cognac? Say it was a cheaper table? What about the wynn, venetian, etc? We're actually going to be staying at the rio, but I really don't like most harrah's casinos, so I doubt i'll play much there, |

[ QUOTE ]
So here's a small summary of what's been suggested: Effin Vodka Grand Marnier Liqueur (w/ Bailey’s and coffee, perhaps) Patron Silver Tequila Woodford Reserve Bourbon Maker’s Mark Bourbon Tanquerey 10 Gin Macallan Single Malt Scotch Johnnie Walker Green/Black Label Scotch Chivas Scotch Glenlivet Scotch VSOP Remy Martin Cognac Courvasier Cognac Rusty Nail Any other suggestions? Any cocktails? (manly ones, of course) [/ QUOTE ] you want cocktails? Maker's Mark Manhattan or Old Fashioned An irish coffee, make mine Jameson's please For something sweet try a Stoli Vanil White russian. A GIN martini. I like Hendricks, but Tanqueray 10 is pretty good as well Margaritas are pretty typical, for a change try tequila (I like Sauza Hornitos) and grapefruit juice, esp. if the juice is fresh. Salt is pretty good here. If you are into brandy/cognac try a Beautiful: half Grand Marnier/half cognac After a bad beat I like a shot of Jaeger, beer back Oh yeah, if you drink vodka, are mixing it with juice or red bull, and are paying... try monopolova. It's an Austrian potato vodka that is quality and much less expensive that ketel, goose etc. Bartenders drink it. I know. I am one. |
