I'm pretty sure Barry Bonds' career has fallen during your lifetime, and he's the greatest offensive force of all time, regardless of whether you like him or not, regardless of whether he juiced or not. Not liking reality doesn't change it.

Best offensive baseball player with zero full seasons as the best player in his own league we'll see in our lifetimes.

FYP, and don't give me any of that MVP crap. when someone else wins both the silver slugger and the gold glove at your position, you are not the best player in the league.

[ QUOTE ]
Pujols has an amazing lineup around him... it's that simple.

if john rodriguez keeps hitting .417, maybe

for the record, i agree pujols is the best hitter in the game today and likely will be in the near future. however, at this point in his career it is just stupid to call him the best player of his generation. he needs to stay at his established level for another 15 years to catch up to bonds in career value, and even then he will have had a worse peak.

Dude, there's a loooooooooooooooong way to go before even beginning to have this discussion. Bonds is the singular reason we aren't already talking about Albert as the second coming as he's the only reason Albert didn't end up wtih 4 MVPs already. Let's let Albert pass Griffey Jr, Frank Thomas etc., before we worry about his career relative to Bonds.
