Re: *** OFFICIAL 11/25/07 NFL SNF GAME THREAD (PHI @ NE) ***
Sure, Indy is not an average football team either and I do believe the Pats came back and won that game. I get your point though. Save for the Indy game, what have they done to their opponents this year? Come on man.

I agree that 24.5-25 is a LOT and your logic def. makes sense. That said, would you be shocked if they came out and won by 30? I know I wouldnt, and thats why I will not bet against that happening. That is basically my whole point I guess.

[/ QUOTE ] you are ignoring facts, yes they win, no they dont win by that much as much as they seem to, most of the time its by less, nad this case i doubt will be one that ends in a 24+ point blowout. obv that statement will be different v jets and dolphins, but the eagles aren't nearly that awful |

but the eagles aren't nearly that awful [/ QUOTE ] they are basically the Redskins. or the Browns (only 17 point win). or a bit better than the Bills. those teams weren't awful either |

As an aside with DVOA: Do you think that NE has been performing average, below average, or above average?

Re: *** OFFICIAL 11/25/07 NFL SNF GAME THREAD (PHI @ NE) ***
now, this is the first time in weeks I'm not on NE. -24 just seems crazy to me, and the Pats have been playing at an incredibly high level, maybe the highest extended streak in NFL history. they are due to "just" beat a team by 2 td's or so.
otoh, I see no logical reason why they won't keep playing nearly as high as they have. it's not like they have been scoring fluke td's or getting fluky defensive plays. in addition, they are 100% healthy. there is 1 guy on the injury report, and that is Tom Brady. |

[/ QUOTE ] do you mean as compared to what they could normally be expected to do? they have been performing above average certainly. they just beat the Bills 56-10 or whatever and their dvoa barely moved. |

NE Total DVOA 73.7% Ranked #1. DAL is #2 with a 39% DVOA.
Any other questions? |
