Fwiw, im 23 and have litterally no intention of ever doing the 9-5 thing - tried it briefly, wasnt me.

If that means poker, self employment, bumming around as a shift worker, whatever - im just shocked you got to this point with no plan B.

Like has been said, McD is always hiring - also is moving in with parents for a short stint an option?

Sell car if its going to pay itself off with cash to spare. Buy a moped or a bus pass. Work somewhere doing something for a few months and just think through a short term plan.

Also, think about what you want to do longer term.

Re the oats, i was reminded by the Assani thread in about the forums. Loved that thread back in the day.

Wired magazine also had a feature about some guy who makes a good living being a medical research subject. I don't know anything about the publishing business or how hard it is to make money freelance writing articles and stuff but maybe thats an option too.

Now these are some funny ideas!

Becoming a medical guinea pig is a better idea than trying to be like the writer who got the piece published.

I've noticed that the labels of Gatorade bottles have "HI ME 5¢" printed on them. Instead of trying to break into the already glutted aluminum can collection market you could enter the untapped Gatorade bottle market.

1) Become the overlord of an army of the homeless.
2) Command your subjects to bring you Gatorade bottles as tribute.
3) Truck bottles to Maine.
4) Profit!

It's time to change your beliefs. Believing that you are a genius, that you don't have to work to live the life you want, and that you are too good for a white collar job, these are beliefs that you would be better off without. Your life won't change in a meaningful way until you change the way you think about your life. This won't be easy, since you seem like a very stubborn guy, but it's the only way. Good luck.

You should tutor arts majors and write term papers for trust fund babies. Initially, you should at least charge $20 or $25/hr, and you can raise this after you build up a reputation.

I've given this serious thought. The major problem is that I would have to write all of a given client's papers throughout the entire semester; I have a very distinctive writing style and it would be pretty obvious if I just took over for someone midstream.

Uh... it's mid-May. Semester will be over soon. Find people taking summer school, get started. Expand client base in Fall. Profit.
