[ QUOTE ] erm so he has the Queen of clubs right? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, he limp-shoved AQo from UTG. The good thing about AQo: You can make 2 different flushes, not just one. LOL. [/ QUOTE ] Wrong. He overlimped on the button after UTG limped. His play isn't ridiculous considering the BB could've just seen weakness in the limps. I actually would've preferred a larger reraise pf. |

Standard in level 3 or 4 of a Stars $10 or $20 180 man SNG. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but by that time, you have been playing AT LEAST an hour. Nobody likes to go into the break with only 3000 chips. Time to triple up or bust! |

Ah, the hand that brought us the best quote in poker history. No, not "You call, gonna be all over baby!", the "I had a huge draw on the turn" by Kevin Mcbride, who had QhTh on a 8h8x9h9x board. [/ QUOTE ] So is, "I call. I play the board." the 2nd best quote from that hand? |

[ QUOTE ] Once again Scotty takes a big pot with 9's full late in the main event. [/ QUOTE ] Ah, the hand that brought us the best quote in poker history. No, not "You call, gonna be all over baby!", the "I had a huge draw on the turn" by Kevin Mcbride, who had QhTh on a 8h8x9h9x board. [/ QUOTE ] There is a dead button in seat 2, Tuan Lam raises (effectively from the button) to 325,000, and Scotty Nguyen calls from the big blind. The flop comes K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] , Nguyen checks, Lam bets 400,000, and Nguyen calls. The turn card pairs the board with the Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] , and both players check. The river card is the J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], and both players check. Nguyen shows T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for a queen-high straight, and Lam mucks. Scotty Nguyen wins the pot. Deja vu, baby! |

[ QUOTE ] are the updates on websites really that pathetic? there are only like 24 people left... whats the deal? maybe they should let Rain Khan do the updates while playing. I hear he's quite the multi-tasker. [/ QUOTE ] Oh you didn't hear? He actually *is* doing all the updates. That, and he's given Tiffany the rest of the tourney off by conducting all of the exit interviews, too. He's also running several cameras for ESPN, and giving the TD some help with the floor decisions. All that while playing seventyleven simultaneous SnGs on Ladbrokes between hands. [/ QUOTE ] Sheesh, belloc, don't sell the man short. At the same time he's doing all this, he's dunking over MJ. |

Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 6, Sun., July 15**
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] It's blatantly obvious that Scotty's strategy is to lay low and pick up a double up here and there to work his way up. With maniacs making overbets left and right, all Scotty has to do is sit back and jam when he gets the best of it. From what I know, this is basically the antithesis of how Scotty normally plays. [/ QUOTE ] Scotty radically changed his style in the last two years. He no longer gives action to rocks. [/ QUOTE ] Scotty doesn't get enough credit for evolving. His ability to adapt is why he's been relevant for 20 years. It's also why he's made a WPT final table every year since inception. If Scotty makes the FT with chips to work with, he's going to exploit his experience. |

Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 6, Sun., July 15**
Just before the break..
Outer Table: Alex Kravchenko Doubles Up Kravchenko moved all-in for 1.1 million from early position and Kevin Farry made the call. It was folded around and Kravchenko's {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} was racing against Farry's {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Farry stayed in the lead after the {5-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop but Alex caught the {K-Diamonds} on the turn, and when the {6-Clubs} hit on the river Kravchenko doubled up to 2.33 million, while Farry's stack fell to 1.6 million. Damn, this guy knows how to handle a shortstack in this minefield. |
