[ QUOTE ]
It makes me a bit queasy when people opt out of the electorate, unless they are like Scott and won't be around at night.

[/ QUOTE ]
I don't want to be on the electorate yet because I don't think I read people very well. (not so) coincidentally I imagine this is why I have zero votes - because other people here agree with me about that. I will not shy away from serving if the village trusts me more than other choices but I don't believe electing me at this time is in the villages' best interest. Just call me the anti-Traz

mets,

there's nothing wrong w/ a platform. but from what i understood, SH was suggesting essentially having a "lynch" vote and forcing the electorates to choose from whoever was at the top of that vote. maybe i misunderstood, but i don't think thats a good idea

[/ QUOTE ]

i dont think it's a horrible idea for round 1. They would have to listen to us or risk being outed as wolves. Im not saying it is a sound strategy for the whole game, but having the village decide the lynch rather than the electorate day 1 is a sound plan

Soah

Villagers:

Clown
Scott
Fnord (although I am always cautious about that one)

I guess I see this game differently than books and traz.

I see this as a game where the ideal is each candidate putting his name into the ring with one potential wolf. That gives more power to the democracy. In fact if it wasn't for the vote three electorates thing, if each player said they would lynch the player after them alphabettically, they we could vote one above who we wanted to lynch and turn this into a semi normal WW game.

Spook, my problem with that is, it doesn't fully utilize the potential of having good wolf-finders choose wolves

Spook, the funny thing is that I agree with you to an extent. I think we have a choice to play it as one candidate/one wolf, or to basically elect those you trust. I think the in between of offering two or three candidates you will lynch is the worst of the three strategies.

I will expect the electorate to be willing to work hard to defend and develop some rationale for who they choose. It is vital that the electorate be forced to give an account of themselves if we are going to lynch wolves.
