They have Scotty back up to 3.3, don't know if that is before or after the hand that he just lost.

Rep Porter doubles up to 3.5mil
On a board reading Qc-6h-4h-Ah Lee Watkinson bets out 400,000 from the small blind and Rep Porter moves all in for 1,650,000. Watkinson makes the call and opens 6c-6s for a set of sixes. Porter has 10h-8h for a flush.

The river is the Kh and Rep Porter doubles up to just over 3,500,000.

Bad news for Scotty fans: he lost about 1 million chips in the hand.
Good news: I think it's highly unlikely he does this with a 1.5 million stack.

Edited to add: they're now reporting that Scotty has a 3.3 million stack (before or after the above hand, who knows).

Yeah, he's at either 2.3 or 3.3, which still leaves him in a good position.

Depressing. Please, Porter is like the worst possible poker image. Can we not give him a mountain of chips?? I can just see what the conservative groups will do if he wins.

I'm pretty sure 3.3 is correct. Pokerpages had him at over 4m after winning the prior hand, so losing approx 1m in this hand would make 3.3 seem about right.

(I'm sure he may personally be a great guy, stand up, with a 40 year marriage, but it won't come off like that on TV).

Extra good news: the timing of the 3.3 million = the timing of the above hand. So he's probably 3.3 million after the loss.

Here, just so we have the hand with the cards,

Mikkel Madsen Takes One from "The Prince"
Action folded around to Scotty Nguyen, who raised to 120,000 from the button. Mikkel Madsen, playing from the small blind, made the call and the two took a flop heads-up... {Js}{8c}{5s} Both players checked the flop. The turn came the {5d}. Madsen led out for 100,000. Nguyen raised to 225,000 and Madsen made the call. The river brought the {10c}. Madsen checked and Scotty bet 700,000. After a bit of consideration, Madsen made the call and showed A-8. Scotty nodded his head and mucked his hand.
