Playing a sport is the best way imo. Difficult to stay motivated to just run

I want to get as fit as possible within the next 2-3 months really. Not enough sport round here/people to do it with to make it a better option than the gym I think.

If you have a bike just go for a 30 minute ride 4 days a week. That will get you started. If you can ride some hills to get your heart rate up. I forget the heart bpm you need to work on cardio. I'd look it up and when your riding you can count your beats in your neck for 15 sec. to see if meeting that. I know when I'm doing cardio I'm running close to between 160-180 bpm.

I'm a pull-up machine btw

Jay,
yeah, pickup ball is a great way. but tufat said that its not as common there.

biking is definitely nice. i dont think there is much better exercise than swimming. just jogging yourself also helps your cardio a ton. (i'm horrible at jogging but meh).

lifting helps too, i'm sure people can give you plenty of lifting advice. i do the basics a few times a week just to maintain my strength (though i havent worked out in a while because of my hand).

Jay, I dunno why, but I always think swimming sounds like such a great idea - good workout, fun, no injuries - but when I get there it's always like "OMG swimming is boring, and WTF are all these idiots doing in this pool".

I'm going to try out some "cardio-classes" in my local gym. They have a schedule with group-training with an instructor. I'm thinking about doing spinning twice a week, and boxing twice a week. I really love spinning in the mornings, and I think it's easy to push myself to the limit everytime I feel like i couldn't go on for 1 minute longer. Probably because I imagine I'm part of Tour de France ldo. Haven't tried the boxing classes yet, but it's basically sparring with gloves and mits, some kicks, combined with some strenght training. Sound fun.
