I did however, sink a 45 foot putt for a 5 on a par 4. [/ QUOTE ] Imagine how much pain and misery we could save ourselves if we just didn't make that one good shot. |

Re: What\'d You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Playing in an event with a partner this weekend. Yesterday was 9 holes of alternate shot (both hit drives) and 9 holes of scramble.
We're both about 12s, so +2 on the alternate shot was pretty good. I missed a 4 footer and made a terrible lag putt to cost us the two strokes. The scramble portion was brutal. We had three holes where our best option was a shot out of the bunker. Only got up and down once, end result +3. Today is best ball day, need to play better! |

Ugh. More proof that I can't play completely sober: I was +1 through 14 at Papago (tough course from the tips), but stopped drinking at the turn to rehydrate. Then my swing and particularly my putter got wobbly and I played the last four holes at five over, including three three putts.

93 @ a local muni, first round in a LONG time.
Driver: switched back to my old Spalding alliance and every drive was 250, in the fairway. My 540xd is being repaired and i hit that like 275+ in the trees..... Long and short irons were horrible, I had maybe 1 or 2 GIR's, gotta work on that.... |

Re: What\'d You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Last thursday had the privledge of embarrassing myself by playing at Reflection Bay in Vegas...
...Easily best and nicest course I have ever ever played, the range balls were way better than the ones I planned on losing throughout the cours...and lose I did 21 of them to be exact.... ...I hit 1 good straight drive the entire time and could find no consistency I ended up shooting a generous 131 from the blues, making me feel like quitting...the one hope I had was I played with a good friend of mine from out there shot a [censored] 76 and made me want to aspire to ever be that good |

Re: What\'d You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Great golf course in the Portland area, Quail Valley. It's actually outside of Portland a ways, which is nice, because despite being the second-best value/public course in the area, it is NEVER crowded. Played nine holes, shooting a 41 with a TRIPLE on nine. Nine is a really tough hole, and I tried to tin cup it across the water when I probably still could have parred by playing it safe. Second time in a row I have scored poorly on the ninth and it has pushed me above 40.

Re: What\'d You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Preemptive TL;DR....
Mark it on your calendars, September 12 2007, I beat my friend Scott for the first time ever. Scott was #1 golfer at a D3 school(2 years ago), and he normally gives me a shot a hole, but he has been revamping my swing for the past 3 months. He unleashed a monster. Woke up at 9am today to play a crappy Seattle city par 3 course(Interbay), I was none too enthused as I usually go to bed around 3 and wake up at noon. I'm still sleeping as we tee off, I bogey the first, and double the second, but then something clicks and I ring off 6 straight pars. Scott hits every single green, but misses 5 putts <10 feet, and going into the 135yd 9th we are tied at +3. I tee off first and hit a pretty good wedge, leaving myself about 20 feet, but Scott steps up and sticks his 9iron to 7 feet. But I have ice water in my veins and drain my birdie, no doubt about it, from there I knew it was over, Scott pulls it left, the crowd goes wild |
