Re: College Football Week 6
RE: App St.
I don't think the country realized that 1AA teams can play REALLY well if they are maxed out and executing. The only people who realize it are people who follow 1AA ball, and in truth...I would venture very very few "hardcore sports fans" ever care unless they a)graduated from one or b) bet on sports. |

Re: College Football Week 6
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] App St vs. Michigan is possibly the greatest upset in the history of sports, let alone college football. Stanford beating USC is also huge upset, but pales in comparison to App St vs. Michigan. [/ QUOTE ] I disagree. When you take into account how poorly Michigan has played this year, that game doesn't look quite as stunning. Michigan struggled with Northwestern and Eastern Michigan the last two weeks. We are not any good. [/ QUOTE ] App State over Michigan was only a big upset because, as JackWhite says, it wasn't clear how bad Michigan was. Play that game now and it's probably a two touchdown spread. |

Re: College Football Week 6
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] "Stanford was 41.5 pt dog, biggest upset ever. " There wasn't even a line for the App St. Mich game. That's how big of dog they were. [/ QUOTE ] Wasnt a line cause they were 1-aa, some betting sites had the line in the 26 range. Stanford over USC is a bigger upset, especially when u consider Michigan's was based on pre season rankings which obviously way overanked them, and USC was consensus top 2. Biggest upset ever. [/ QUOTE ] Fine, if you want to call it the biggest upset ever you can have it. But if you are going to claim stanford was playing with their backup QB, then please mention that USC was playing with its backup offensive line, 4th-deep corner, missing our best linebacker (kushing), missing our top RB (stefan johnson). [/ QUOTE ] Who cares? You have top 5 recruiting classes over the last 6 recruiting seasons. [/ QUOTE ] Well sadly none of those people are playing anymore because they are all hurt or in the NFL. |

Re: College Football Week 6
The spread was mid 20's for the Michigan/App st game, not everyone makes spreads for games with non d1a, but there were places with spreads, and it was in mid-late 20's, not even close to 40.
