I'm not sure what happened with DeSalvo in 2006, but he was awful and these kinds of pitching performances are just terribly good luck. 23 guys put the ball in play over 7 innings and 3 got hits against this Yankees defense? Aaron Small would be proud.

Some guy I have never heard of pitches 7 innings with 3 walks and no strikeouts, and allows 1 run. Then Mariano Rivera comes in, k's Sexson, gets a soft ground ball from the 2nd hitter, then allows a home run. I dont get it.

the yankees are like 2 wins below where they should be, which considering the way torre manages doesnt seem like its really 'running bad'.
rivera otoh is probably running bad. as for the injuries, well one of them was to a 38 year old and another to a guy who most likely wouldnt even had been on the team (which is retarded) if it werent for that injury.
