Webb will take the lead by a bit before the night is over. He will then lose on absentee ballots. It will be in court for the better part of the month, but that's how it will end.

[/ QUOTE ]

Shouldn't the absentee ballots be counted by now. Aren't you supposed to have them in by election day?? I honestly don't know.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm pretty sure it's postmarked by today.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm trying to check the VA law. I know in PA they have to be at the election office by election day. Not just postmarked.

It looks like CNN has the totals for Webb/Allen reversed from those of the VA site, which would make Webb still behind.

[/ QUOTE ]

They're not reversed. They are reporting different precints. This thing will end up as close as it can get.

[/ QUOTE ]

How is CNN getting the report BEFORE the state of VA's website?

CNN is pissing me off. They keep saying "we don't know where the uncounted votes are coming from" when that's total [censored] as they do have this information.

I'm going to guess that they are using some exit polling data? That would seem pretty dicey at this point though.

It's kinda depressing that NPR doesn't seem to know what the discrepancy between cnn and the virginia website is about either.

[/ QUOTE ]

Supposedly the difference is in Prince William.

Tradesports had GOP Senate at 95ish, now it's down to 65.

[/ QUOTE ]

I wonder if the end result will be 50-49 DEM with Virginia hanging over a massively-scrutinized recount. Viva la democracy!

What I find surprising is as of right now, the Republicans have ZERO projected pickups in the Senate, House or Governorships. That's 0-for-a lot - or, as the president calls it, a plan for victory.

I doubt it. It would be dicey, but pretty typical.
