[ QUOTE ]
I reckon 100 million is a higher percentage of total Americans than 715 million is of the entire world population. Football being played only in the states really kind of prohibits it from being watched worldwide in any scale. Soccer is also real big in countries where children have no access to gymnasiums or sporting equipment and they're only means of passing the time is to kick a dried gourd around a dust field. In a lot of places it's all they've got, really. [/ QUOTE ] so the only country in the world where children don't have to live in such conditions is the US? because soccer is the number 1 sport in almost every single other country besides the US with almost no exception (I can't even think of any off the top of my head). |

First, Americans like Rome that can't respect soccer is just, as Jay would say, LOL. Anyway, I agree with The Sports Guy, that the MLS will never be big in the US because it's no where near the best league in the world, and only the best of anythig will do for the US. p.s. my favorite sport is American Football. p.p.s nice goal Lampard - finally! [/ QUOTE ] American football has hot guys in tight shorts |

Meh I don't want to debate soccer - it's so pointless (the debate, not the sport).
Obv tons of people love soccer. For me, I find soccer kind of uninteresting to watch. I tried to learn some stuff about it a few years ago so I could more intelligently watch, but to no avail. I suspect if my boys were all huge into it and we could get smashed and hoot and holler and stuff I'd have a better experience watching it - hell, I might learn to love it. However, I also do think most countries just really have limited quality options. |
