Sure, mets could ask for people to lock in their submissions, forcing Scott and I to shoot each other before he shoots, but since in thread posts aren't binding, he has no way to enforce that.

It's too bad we can't just chop it up right now, share first through third.

I'm probably shooting E7.

Mets, actually, if you shoot someplace that's guaranteed to miss both of us, neither of us will shoot you, and you have a 1/4 chance of a three way chop for first, a 1/2 chance of a two way chop for first, and a 1/4 chance of an outright win. Scott has a 1/2 chance of hitting me, and I have a 1/2 chance of hitting him.

I'm just happy to be in third. I already submitted E7.

Scott, though, he may be playing for a first.

Neil - if you're happy to be in third, why not guarantee yourself second and take out Mets?

[/ QUOTE ]Because I already attempted to hit Mets last round, and want to show good faith by making the offer to hit Scott with him and even it out, just like I tended to even things out in +/-.

Did we decide on the next game? Sorry if I forgot and/or missed it.

FWIW Neil

I think Scott is more likely to be at B7 than E7

*** NEXT GAME ***

Scott Howard v3.1 chooses nothing.

Actually, he asked me to come up with a game, so I did.

This game is called 2 choice sheep.

You will receive a PM with your 12 sheep questions. You'll get a PM rather than just a posting in the thread because I will randomize the order of the 2 choices you will come up with. This will prevent you guys from just choosing the first answer each time.

As in regular sheep, choose the answer you feel will be most popular. However the scoring will be different than regular sheep.

SCORING
Rather than assigning points based on how many people matched your answer, the people with the most popular answer advance to the next question. All others are eliminated on that question and receive the same number of points. The process continues until all players have been eliminated (or we run out of questions).

In order to minimize the effect of having the questions in one specific order, I will randomly generate 24 randomizations of the questions and run the contest using the above rules for each randomization. Points for each randomization will be determined as follows: 1st = 12; 2nd = 11; 3rd = 10; ...; 12th = 1. If not all submit, the last place finisher will receive 1 point and everyone will go up by one from there. For each "tie," you'll share the points. (2 way tie for 2nd recieves 10.5 points)

RANKING
Players will by the sum of the points scored in each of the 24 randomizations. If there are any ties, they will be broken by the number of answers that the player's got "right." If still tied, they will be ranked by sheep score. If still tied, they will share a place.

As with the other games, if you don't participate, you get zero championship points.

***

I realize that the scoring procedures may be confusing. Please ask questions about it to make sure that you fully understand the procedures and the object of the game.

Please understand that in order to fully eliminate the randomization factor, I'd have to do the rankings 12! times. I don't have the patience or the computer programming skills to be able to do that. I hope you guys understand. If not, bah! I do, however, reserve the right to add additional trials to determine the winner if I feel that 24 trials is not enough to determine a clear winner.
