I think it would be very hard to think a team would win a title without its second-best player. I do not think this is out of the realm of possibility. [/ QUOTE ] The Suns are trying to do it without their best player, and I'd take a 5 to 1 bet that they will. |

Steve Nash sez "Mavs in five, GOOD JUAN!" ![]() [/ QUOTE ] this is great - it's exactly what i was thinking last night also. what's funny is, phoenix fans know that our team isn't as good as many other teams ON PAPER. thing is, if they get hot...and the other team slips even a little, they're out of the playoffs before they even knew how. happened to both LA teams, and any mav fans who think it can't happen to them could be setting themselves up for the same. i just love watching the suns play...when they are firing on all cylinders - it's as much fun as basketball gets. |

It could happen, yes. A lot of things could happen. But the Mavs aren't the Clippers or the Lakers, and this isn't the first or second round.
Mavs in five probably would have been right if Bell hadn't played last night. I do love watching the Suns play, though. Just for the entertainment value, I wouldn't at all mind this series going seven games. |

[/ QUOTE ] no question...but surely you see the similarities in each of the three series, right? this is the third time in a row now the suns have looked outmatched in a series and then come up with a game seemingly out of nowhere. dallas is the favorite no doubt...but it's almost like Phoenix has nothing to loose. |

[/ QUOTE ] The Suns are trying to do it without their best player, and I'd take a 5 to 1 bet that they will. [/ QUOTE ] They were down to two starters when Raja was hurt (Marion and Nash). Kurt Thomas was their best defensive player and rebounder this year. Nash's back is worse then ever. And the entire season without Amare. They are already having a better playoffs than last years team, and it's so mind-boggling it defies reason. My only explanation is that is that they are on the heater of all time. |

Yeah...I doubt the Suns ever thought they had a realistic shot to do better than last year in the playoffs, which they have already done, so they are pretty much on a freeroll. Win and everyone will be shocked...lose and everyone still will be surprised they got this far.

Riley switching up the defense every few trips has been effective

Defensive play of the year right there? I think so. And he gets the tip.
