Nah, we won't miss Timlin. We got Riske. Btw, bad name for a relief pitcher.

who said we wouldnt miss timlin?

the manager could put his better pitchers on the hill in crucial spots.

come back from a 6-0 deficit and then put your 3-4th best reliever on the bump. pure genius. gotta save papelbon for thos 3 run leads in the 9th.

"um, why wouldnt timlins 'replacement' be foulke, and his replacement be tavarez/riske....?

delcarmen will be the last guy out of the pen, but whatever. as usual, lets not let facts get in the way of dumb posts.

timlin has averaged .4 innings per game so far this season. his DL stint is 15 days which equates to about ~12 more games or 4.8 innings they have to 'replace'. im sure foulke and papelbon can split the huge 5 innings they need to pick up."

This sounds like you don't think we'll miss him. Sorry if I misconstrued your intent.

sublime,

In Francona's defense, it was not a save situation.

nope, just a rational response to somebody who said the red sox were in trouble because they lost their 3rd best reliever for 15 days.

Other than Paplebom who has been lights out and Timlin who has been very solid the bullpen is very shaky. They will struggle to get to Paplebom until Timlin returns.

Foulke is pretty awesome. Look at his peripherals.

He's had his moments but also has had some shaky moments. Regardless, we will miss Timlin a lot.
