regarding tutoring: i agree with whoever said who would want this guy around your children. i certainly wouldn't. in addition i get the impression that anacardo lacks the necessary intelligence and skillset to teach anyone proficiently, much less kids.

I hate to post strat in OOT but yeah, chuddo is right, your main goal as an SAT tutor (I was one for a while) is convincing the parents that you're not a molester and that they are spending their money wisely. Then you help the kid read the textbook. That's it. It's easy money for a smart person who is good at dealing with people. Not a smart person who is not. So fuggitaboutit.

What you would be good at is working for the alternative weekly as a journalist IN DC !

[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] cards, his threads are always deliciously trainwreckaged. Remember when he posted that post about like "FU San Fran clique!" and Josh was all "You suck" El D was all "I gotta respek that" and cardo was all "Thats wassup" and peeps was like "Damn oot crew roll deep" and jakethebake was all and peachy was like "Heahs mah blog yall" and Dids was grumpy cuz he was fat?

Good times.

Does this apply primarily to freelancers, or also to people going through the auspices of a Princeton Review/Kaplan?

Frankly, I see a whole lot of "let's see how clever I can be in this response" from you and not much addressing
anyone's actual point.

So the whole case re: the both of you being everything I accuse you of being has been definitively made, by you? Sweet. You tear down the podiums and I'll start sweeping up.

You have a point that their delivery style leaves something to be desired; however, you are getting completely housed in this thread dude. I recommend you read this and then apply it to your own thoughts:

Especially to PR/Kap people. They have a very systematic system that you use when tutoring or teaching classes in a group. When you go into someones home you spend lots of time placating the nervous parents that you're making progress, when often you are not. Frankly its a total ripoff, kids should just buy a bunch of How To Take SAT tests and read them. You are just a motivator, which is not a bad job, but it requires a lot more teaching/saleman skills than smarts.

I dunno about freelancers actually, I can't imagine how that would work.

Something just occurred to me.

All you sanctimonious [censored] with your 'journey is the reward' and 'working and being productive' and sacredness of labor, blah blah blah blah blah?

What are YOU guys doing?

Could it be cushy office jobs where you have all the time in the world to sit around and chat on 2+2?

OH MY IT JUST MIGHT.

I work harder in one temp shift at a factory than most of you [censored] do all week. But those people are lazy, really, and that's why they don't get ahead, LOL.

Sorry, trying to turn over this new positive leaf, but I just had to get that off me chest.
