Ok guys, I'm sick of not being able to give solid reasons why certain plays are ok and others are not because of odds/poker math.

Here's an example:

Can you point me the way to the light of where I can learn this stuff? A book? A post I've missed in the master sticky? I know I've read something in Anthology about the growth of a poker player and the stages you go though. I need to be pushed through the math stage now. Where do I turn to?

the math isn't tough. Just take the outs, multiply by 4. There is the % to win the hand (if you are likely behind). Then you see how much is in the pot compared to what you have to call. If the pot is 25 and he bets 25, to call, you have to win 1 in 3 times. so 2-1 pot odds needs 33% equity.

read the sklanksy nl book. He explains it well.
