I figured out why stoxtrader loves the turn check-raise as a semibluff when drawing. It's because it makes your flush hit unless you are me.

Haha - this is funny, and I completely agree.

I made the mistake of mentioning to someone that I am making more money playing poker this month than I am at my job despite the fact that I put in 5x as many hours at my job. instant doomswitch on FTP. Lose 50BB to a so-so player HUHU when he hits a great hand everytime I hit a good hand, and also hits 4 5-or-less outers in huge pots where I have "I can't fold this" type hands.

Also Jim McManus hit a 5 outer on me at 6max in a $100 blind battle, but I can forgive him because I've thoroughly enjoyed all of his writing.

oh and I'm swamped at work today and probably will have to be here until 7pm tonight.

life is freaking sweet.

Over my last 25k hands I'm running at -.12 BB/hand with AKo (Had it 200 times) Just running bad, or the sign of a big leak? AKs, AQo, AQs, etc. are all big winners.

yes. the fact that you are winning big with 3 other hands that are nearly the same hand means that you are misplaying the other one.

I had a stretch like that with AKo when I first moved to 5/10. I think a lot of it is variance, but I started looking through the hands, and I think I had a lot of leaks with AKo. I think I called down UI too much, but in too much action when I was way behind with it, and actually made some bad peels when the flops were capped and I really shouldn't have given myself credit for more than 3 outs.

I'm winning with it now, and I think it is really important to look through those hands and find the ones where you made and lost the most. analyze them and see what you are doing wrong.

it will really help.

Good idea. I just looked at a few from a few months back when I was a significant loser and I'm wondering why I was folding so much on the turn and river. Going to check out recent ones and see if I can find anything.
