Can anyone explain to me the concept of 'Sklansky Bucks'? Or link me to a thread ? I'd appreciate it . .

[/ QUOTE ]

Alright Ill try this before I go to bed. I'm not sure if this is techinically the definition, but its what Sklansky's getting at.

Say youre playing 50nl and effective stacks are exactly $50. You and one opponent see a flop in the blinds for $.50 each thus a $1 pot. Dont worry about open limping in the SB and all that, you both see a flop for $.50. Now this is a good flop and you are exactly a 2:1 favorite (66.67% to win). You and your opponent get AI on this flop somehow (once again it doesnt matter what the action is, youre just AI), pot=$100 assume no rake.

.6667*100=+$66.67 for the times that you win

.3333*(-100)=-$33.33 for the time you lose

Add them up and your $Ev=+33.34.
So regardless of what the actual outcome is, everytime you get it in on this flop as a 2:1 fav for 100bb, you win $33.34 sklansky bux. Usually people talk about making sklansky bux when they get sucked out on in this situation (they really lost $100 bc of the suckout but made $33.34 in sklansky bux).

I think I may cash out all but $250 once more and start over at NL10. I really don't need the [censored] stress that is losing $600 in one session at NL100. WTF...

An entire weeks profit at NL50 and 100 down the drain in one tilt session where idiots call off their stacks on the turn with flushdraws and hit for $400.

FWIW I cashed out half my roll to keep myself from taking more shots at NL100 until I gave myself enough time to get better. I wouldn't start again from NL10 but NL25 or NL50 might not be a bad idea.

but yea this is prolly a good idea. playin more hands will help and u will also get more used to losing and winning more money at a time as u play more. if it is stressin u out deff dont do it. not worth it imo. poker is suposed to b a way to better our lives, whether it is finicially or for the enjoyment, or w/e and if u r losin tha u should change sumtin asap. it is so worth it

shipapost/brag?!!?

I was away from poker for a month+ ish due to school, buring out, choosing booze and friends over weekend sessions, etc. went life money busto, PS account went dry.

I was a 5ptbb/100 player at 50nl on FT and PS over nearly 100K hands from Oct-Jan so ship hopefully I still pwn@ winning inet poker monies?? plz lee jones???

Last week I took my ~325 roll to 25nl to get back in the grind, played about as close to abc poker as I knew since I had never played 25 before and didn't have and PT stats on players.

I've played nearly 15K hands at 25nl so far at just under 11ptbb/100. Been a good week and its refreshing to know i can still win at this game. w00t!!!

wuts with no one postin in this bitch. it was so far down my first page. pick it up people where tha [censored] is tha banter?!!?!?!?

in other news i have gone over a [censored] load of my hands from recently and i can say i played reasonable over my horendous down swing. but i also came to a conclusion that downswings like this can happen and will happen. when u r pushing 55 and 60% edges u will lose ur fair share of them and at some time u will lose a ton of them in a row. even when i was gettin it in behind on coolers or w/e i think i was ahead of tha ranges for the most part or that it was even and that kind of stuff will not work out sometimes. when u have 55% equity in tha hand u have to look to get it in. this will lead to lots of varience tho.

in retro vision i love how i have handled it so far. if i woulda found out a year ago i would drop 1500 in a week i would prolly killed myself. i dont feel to bad at the moment and feel like gettin back to the grind asap. it will suck spendin a week or 2 (hopefully) to rebuild and get to even for tha month but im still content and cant wait to work hard and get it done. thanks to all who have helped and look and replied to hands in tha last week. i appreciate it a ton.

if n e of u go thru a killer stretch pm me or hit me up on aim and ill b more then happy to go over some hands and chit chat
